If you are looking for a different design, check my portfolio or Instagram, you will find hundreds of inspirations there, I create new designs almost every day, there are also ideas for men’s tattoos.
If you hesitate, below I will try to describe the most common questions I have about tattoo designs for men, maybe it will help you choose something interesting for yourself.
Where do men get a tattoo most often?
If we ignore the cases when almost the entire body is tattooed, the most common questions I have about men’s tattoos in the following places:
- on the forearm,
- on the calf,
- on arm,
- on the back,
- on chest.
What tattoo designs are most often chosen by men and what is their meaning?
Below you will find over a dozen tattoo designs made by me with a comment on what meaning is most often assigned to them.
Forest and trees as a male tattoo motif
For many societies, the tree is a symbol of strength and adaptation, they are considered long-lived and resistant to weather conditions.
The best evidence of longevity is the fact that in Sweden there is a spruce called “Old Tjikko”, which, according to scientists, is about 9.5 thousand years old.
A tattoo with a forest or tree motif has been popular in recent years, it offers many possibilities of expansion and enrichment, for example by adding an animal motif, such as a wolf, bear or a bird, or e.g. a moon disc.
The trees are most often made in a dark color palette – black and gray, sometimes with the addition of dark green or brown.
Animal motifs in male tattoos, their meaning
Animals are a frequent topic in inquiries, and there are many positive attributes attributed to them that men identify with, so it’s a popular theme.
The most popular animal themes are currently:
- bird – has always meant independence and freedom,
- wolf – an expression of wildness and animal strength,
- deer – as a symbol of speed, wildness, beauty and elusiveness,
- tiger – as a model of unpredictability and primal instincts.
Male tattoo on the forearm – symbols and designs from games
Many questions about male designs concern, for example, Celtic or Nordic symbols, Christian symbolism, skulls, pyramids, etc.
Some men also ask about the possibility of getting a tattoo based on their favorite movie, game or book – for example, I have made designs inspired by the Adeptus Astartes orders or the Witcher’s sword and the Aard and Igni signs.
What are male tattoo designs characterized by?
While women often choose delicate patterns that harmonize with sensitivity, in my opinion the male pattern should be made with a strong line, strong and bold.
Regardless of whether it is a floral, animal or symbolic pattern, it should be masculine 🙂
Or maybe something less durable than a tattoo – a t-shirt or a mug ?
